Privacy Policy
MVMT Kinetic ("we," "us," or "our") is a physiotherapy practice operated by Mohammad Maghfourian, Registered Physiotherapist, at Suite 890 – 151 Bloor St. W, Toronto, Ontario. We are committed to protecting the privacy of both our patients and the visitors to our website. This policy explains what information we collect, how we use and protect it, and the rights you have over it.
As a physiotherapy practice in Ontario, we are a "health information custodian" under the Personal Health Information Protection Act, 2004 (PHIPA). Any personal health information you share with us in the course of your care is handled in accordance with PHIPA and the standards of the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario.
01Information we collect
The information we collect depends on how you interact with us:
If you visit our website or contact us
- Contact details you provide — such as your name, email address, and phone number when you fill out a form, request our free self-check resource, or send us an inquiry.
- The information in your message — including anything you choose to tell us about your goals, history, or symptoms when you contact us or apply for a program.
- Website and device information — such as your IP address, browser type, and how you use our site, collected through cookies and analytics (see Section 07).
If you become a patient
- Personal health information — your health history, the results of your assessments, our clinical findings, your treatment and progress notes, and other information needed to provide your care.
- Booking and administrative information — appointment details, contact information, and insurance information where you choose to submit claims.
- Payment information — processed securely through our payment providers (we do not store your full card details ourselves).
02How we collect it
We collect information directly from you — through our website forms, when you book or attend an appointment, and during the course of providing your care. We collect health information with your knowledge and consent, as part of your treatment.
03How we use your information
We use the information we collect to:
- Provide, plan, and deliver your physiotherapy assessment and care;
- Book, manage, and remind you of appointments;
- Process payments and provide receipts for insurance submission;
- Respond to your inquiries and send you resources you have requested (such as the self-check guide);
- Maintain accurate clinical records as required by our professional College and the law; and
- Understand and improve how our website is used.
We rely on your consent to collect, use, and disclose your personal health information for the purpose of providing your care. You may withdraw your consent at any time, subject to legal and professional record-keeping requirements (see Section 06).
04Who we share it with
We do not sell your personal information, and we do not share it for advertising. We share information only in the following limited circumstances:
- Trusted service providers who help us operate — and only the information they need to do so. These include:
JaneApp — booking & secure health records Square & Stripe — payment processing MailerLite — email delivery Google Analytics — website analyticsEach of these providers maintains its own privacy and security practices.
- Other health providers — only with your consent, for example when we provide a referral or coordinate your care.
- When required by law — where we are legally obligated or permitted to disclose information (for example, to comply with a legal requirement or to prevent serious harm).
05How we protect your information
We take the security of your information seriously. Your health records are maintained in JaneApp, a secure, encrypted practice-management platform. Access to your personal health information is limited to those involved in your care and administration, and we maintain physical, technical, and administrative safeguards to protect it against loss, theft, and unauthorized access or disclosure.
06How long we keep it
We retain your personal health information for as long as required by the College of Physiotherapists of Ontario and applicable Ontario law — generally at least ten years from the date of your last recorded interaction with us, and longer in the case of patients who were minors at the time of care. Website inquiry information is kept only as long as needed for the purpose it was collected. When information is no longer required, it is securely destroyed.
07Cookies & website analytics
Our website uses cookies and Google Analytics to understand how visitors use our site so we can improve it. This information is used in aggregate and is not used to identify you personally. We do not run advertising or ad-tracking pixels on our site. You can control or disable cookies through your browser settings, and you can opt out of Google Analytics using Google's opt-out browser add-on.
08Email communications
We use email to respond to your inquiries, confirm appointments, and send resources you have specifically requested. We do not currently send marketing newsletters. If we introduce optional updates in the future, they will be clearly consent-based and you will be able to unsubscribe at any time.
09Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access the personal health information we hold about you and request a copy of your record;
- Request a correction if you believe your information is inaccurate or incomplete;
- Withdraw consent to the collection, use, or disclosure of your information, subject to legal and professional record-keeping obligations; and
- Ask questions or raise a concern about how your information is handled.

10Children's privacy
We provide care to patients of varying ages. Where a patient is a minor, personal health information is collected and handled in accordance with PHIPA and with the involvement of a parent or guardian where appropriate. Our website is intended for a general adult audience and we do not knowingly collect information from children through it.
11Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time to reflect changes in our practice or in the law. The "last updated" date at the top of this page shows when it was most recently revised. We encourage you to review it periodically.
